BP Lipid 142 is an ionizable amino lipid developed by BroadPharm to compare with SM-102. The propanolamine head improves encapsulation of mRNA. The lipid has two esters at C6 and C8 position relative to the amine nitrogen, ester linkages in the lipid tails are introduced into the structure to improve tissue clearance. The lipid has been evaluated by scientists and has shown greater transfection efficiency in two cell lines, HEK293Ts and Calu-3s- compared to SM-102 and other lipid analogs ( see product citation below)..
