FTT5 is a lipid-like compound derived from the ionizable cationic amino lipid TT3 and has been utilized in the creation of lipid-like nanoparticles (LLNs). LLNs incorporating FTT5 and an mRNA reporter enhance luminescence in Hep3B cells and preferentially accumulate in the liver of mice. Additionally, LLNs with FTT5 and mRNA encoding human Factor VIII increase plasma Factor VIII activity in a hemophilia A mouse model. FTT5-containing LLNs have also been employed for genome editing in mice.
