Iodoacetamido-PEG3-acid is a aqueous soluble PEG linker containing a terminal carboxylic acid and Iodoacetamido group. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. HATU) to form a stable amide bond. The Iodoacetamido moiety is commonly used to bind covalently with the thiol group of cysteine so the protein cannot form disulfide bonds. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
