DSPE-PEG-COOH, MW 2,000 is a PEG polymer with hydrophilic phosphate head and hydrophobic lipid tails. The polymer can self-assemble to form lipid bilayers in water. The phospholipid polyPEG can be used as a drug nanocarrier for administration of nutrients and therapeutic drugs, such as liposome in mRNA or DNA vaccines. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups to form a stable amide bond. The long PEG spacer increases reagent's solubility in aqueous media.
