MB 594 Maleimide is a fluroescent agent with a terminal maleimide group. It is a very hydrophilic, water-soluble, red fluorescent dye that has a maximal absorption of 605 nm and emission at 635 nm. The compound is also pH insensitive from pH 3 to pH 10. The maleimide group will react with a thiol group to form a covalent bond.
