PLA(5k)-PEG(1k)-MAL is an amphiphile polymer with hydrophobic racemic poly(lactide) and hydrophilic PEG. The self-assembling polymer forms micelles which can be used to entrap hydrophobic drugs. The terminal maleimide can react with thiol via formation of thioether linkage.
