pSAR peptide

Polysarcosine (pSar) is a biodegradable, nonionic polypeptoid alternative to PEG used in drug delivery, protein conjugation, and nanotechnology.

Stealth Properties: pSar chains impart a "stealth" effect on nanoparticles and therapeutic proteins, allowing them to evade immune detection and significantly prolonging their circulation half-life in the bloodstream.
Biodegradability: pSar is built from sarcosine, an endogenous amino acid, making it fully biodegradable and naturally cleared.
Enhanced Potency: Studies have shown that pSar-conjugated proteins, such as interferons can actually retain more biological activity and accumulate more effectively in target tumor sites than some PEGylated counterparts

mRNA & Gene Delivery: pSar can be utilized to modify Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs). pSar-lipids have demonstrated improved mRNA transfection potency and safer systemic or local administration profiles.
Protein Bioconjugation: Oligomers (like pSar10-OH) are integrated into Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs) to enhance solubility and reduce immunogenicity.
Antifouling Surfaces: Surface-grafted pSar brushes are used in coatings to prevent non-specific protein adsorption and bacterial attachment on biomedical implants
